One more sleep until I'm headed on my two day journey to Kabul. Even though my bags are almost packed, it still hasn't hit me that I'm leaving tomorrow, and I really don't think it will hit me until I get there.
Thanks to everyone whose sent warm wishes my way, and to those who have been part of this insanely crazy process. I really appreciate it!!
I will be updating this blog as much as possible so you can all stay updated on my trip.
More to come soon....

I'm here, but oh no!
So I'm back in Vancouver, I made it with all my stuff!!!!!!!!! Yayyyy for that :) It's so nice to be home finally after all the crazyness of the last couple of weeks.
Today I have to go and get all my dreaded medical tests done and I've been stressing since 5am this morning. I am so deathly afraid of needles and looking at the amount of blood tests and vaccines I need is seriously stressing me out. The travel clinic I called this morning is booked until the 31st, which is kind of a problem since I leave on the 30th, so I'm trying to get in touch with a private clinic who still hasn't called me back. Hopefully my doctor can just take care of it all today, but I guess we will see.
More after the doctors visit....

One week til Vancouver
So it is exactly one week until I take off to Vancouver. Actually this time next week I will be on the flight heading home. Things are still a little stressful since I have to pack up what's been my life for the past five years and get it to the other end of the country. I'm trying to see as many of my friends, family and past and present colleagues as possible this week, especially because I'm not sure when I will be back in Toronto, although I seriously hope it will be before the end of the year. It's really hard to say goodbye to all the people who have shaped, as well as been a part of my life for the past five years.
This is also my last week working at the Foundation, and I'm so sad to be leaving. Even though, I've only been working there for the past 2 months, I've really learned a lot, and wish I was there to see all the events we've been working on unfold.
My flight has finally been booked and visa approved, so this experience is slowly becoming real. I leave Vancouver on the eve of March 30th for Frankfurt, then Dubai and finally Kabul on April 1st. I will be writing up until I leave, so that you can all read about my pre-trip jitters :P and all through my travels.
I will be checking my e-mail so feel free to drop me a line (farahkurji@gmail.com)
